04/27/09 Message from the band concerning the cancellation of the Mexico show
Hello,
We are very sorry we had to cancel the show in Mexico City, at the Auditorium Nacionales, after the outbreak of swine influenza. There was a kind of panic spread in the city over the last days and our thoughts now go to all people suffering from the effects of this dangerous influenza.
It was also sad on our part, as all preparations had been made to make a great show and we had been waiting for that date for a long time, since we have such an enormous support from the fans in Mexico City.
We are now in Guadalajara and everyone in The Rasmus is well, the shows are going well and we are enjoying the Mexican hospitality.
We also hope that we can make another show in Mexico City later..

We have installed a new video player in the community that the band will update with videos from the tour, interviews and whatever else they can come up with.
All you have to do to see the videos is register for the community, which is fast and FREE.

12/04/08 LAURI FROM THE RASMUS COMPOSES MOVIE SCORE
The Rasmus’ Lauri Ylönen has fulfilled one of his life long dreams by writing the score to a new Finnish movie called Blackout. Blackout is a psychological thriller about a man who suffers from amnesia. He wakes from a long coma to find someone has fired a nail into his head with a nail gun. He then begins to trace the events leading up to the trauma. The movie stars popular Finnish actor Petteri Summanen.
“I always wanted to compose a movie score. I read the manuscript and the melodies started to play in my head. Basically I have classical training in music and the themes came alive easily.
I sat down by the piano, put my fingers on the keys and listened to where I should move my hands next”, summarises Lauri.
The theme song of the movie, “Tide”, is performed by debut artist Belle Who.
“She is a very talented indie pop artist from Helsinki and the latest signing on Dynasty Recordings. I have worked on her album for most of this year as I’m the executive producer,” says Lauri. Belle Who’s debut album will be released early in 2009.
The Blackout soundtrack is a Dynasty Recordings release and it’s distributed by Playground Music Finland. Release date is the 17th of December. Blackout has its premiere on the 26th of December in Finland.

11/04/08 The Rasmus - new video in the can!
The new clip for "Justify" was filmed last weekend in Helsinki. The story is focussing on Lauri, who is sitting in an empty pool, confined to a chair, and the water is rising slowly... The singer had to sit in the water for almost three days to finish the video. The treatment idea came from Pauli, guitar player of the band.

10/02/08 Quadruple chart stunt for The Rasmus in Finland!
Having released their 7th studio album "Black Roses" on September 24th, the Rasmus went straight in at number one on the official Finnish Album Chart this week.
Not content with that the band also topped the official Finnish single and download charts this week with "Livin' in a world withou you" as well as being quite happy to spend their 6th week on the #1 spot of the Music Control radio chart.
The Rasmus are also to be awarded with a Gold disc for sales on Black Roses in Finland as they commence the Dynasty tour together with Finnish disco-pop sensation Mariko and progressive rocksters Von Hertzen Brothers.
09/30/08 The album "Black Roses" is out now!!!
A whole three years have passed but now the Finns are back with their seventh studio album Black Roses. Despite a seemingly dark title, The Rasmus venture out of their own shadow, showing what is to date their brightest and friendliest side.
Be surprised as no one less than the song writer and producer legend Desmond Child (Alice Cooper, Kiss, etc.) done his part to create this album. With his customary clear, slightly reserved voice, Lauri Ylönen sums up the mood at the 2008 Rasmus camp: "We are inspired again and feel super, insanely energetic and really excited about what you will think of ‘Black Roses’..."The stone rose on the self-designed cover resembles a compass with five directions. One stands for the unknown, which is exactly where The Rasmus are headed in a good mood and with a thirst for action.
